Bespoke electrophysiological and imaging equipment
Single fiber chambers
Single fiber chambers*
Specifications
a compact recording chamber for ex vivo recordings of embedded tissues. Chamber size is optimized according to the nature and origin of the recorded tissue (skin/muscle/meninges/ cornea, mouse/rat). Chamber is equipped with a special suction electrode) allowing to record from multi- fibre to single fibre.
Sn recording chambers are designed to accommodate whole tissues such as skin, muscles, meninges, cornea, muscle, etc) while still attached to the innervating nerve.
Applications
Nav1.7 and pain: contribution of peripheral nerves. Hoffmann T, Sharon O, Wittmann J, Carr RW, Vyshnevska A, Col R, Nassar MA, Reeh PW, Weidner C. Pain. 2018 Mar;159(3):496-506.

* all chambers described are also available as modules, i.e. chambers can be equipped with amplifiers, heating devices, electrical stimulators, integrated sensors etc.
Combined compound action potential (CAP) and single fiber (sn) chambers*
Specifications
This unique chamber allows to record from a skin nerve or muscle nerve preparation and pairs both CAP and sn techinques allowing simultaneous recording from both the whole nerve, as well as its single filaments. Tissue is fixed in a greater chamber and nerves are gently stretched between a glass electrode and a second isolated chamber section. Within this an additional suction electrode is used for the suction of fine single filaments.
Applications
This recording chambers are designed to accommodate whole tissues such as skin or muscles while still attached to the innervating nerve. In addition a compount action potential can be elicite and analysed simultaneously
